MAHONING COUNTY. 439 at Niles. Daniel continued at the old works, and manufactured considerable iron?much of it consisting of stoves, large kettles, and other castings, the appearanceof which would be rude for these times. About this time a third furnace wasbuilt on Yellow creek by Robert Montgomery, about half a mile below the old.Heaton furnace. Both furnaces went to ruin after the year 1812.
