The Arundell Arms has become associated with fly-fishing, thanks to the owner's late husband, former BBC political journalist Conrad Voss-Bark, and interesting fishing memorabilia decorate the walls. Behind the hotel is a cockpit, a rare survival, and no longer used for cock-fighting, I hasten to add. On my next visit I must remember to ask to see it.
